Antoni Gaudí
25.06.1852, Reus - 10.06.1926, Barcelona
Antoni Gaudí was a Catalan architect known as the greatest exponent of Catalan Modernism.
His distinctive style is characterized by freedom of form, voluptuous colour and texture, and organic unity.
Gaudí's works have a highly individualized, one-of-a-kind style.
Most of his works are located in Barcelona, including his main work, the church of the Sagrada Família, which was unfinished at his death in 1926.
Gaudí's work was influenced by his passions in life: architecture, nature, and religion.
“Nothing is art if it does not come from nature.”
